This view from near Peyto Lake in Banff National Park looking northward into Jasper National Park is a real eye stretcher. In making this image I was attracted by the warm light bathing the rugged peaks of the Northern Rocky Mountains and the pink glow in the sky above Jasper town site some 100 miles away.
This image was made with my telephoto lens but it was not the main object of my hike to this viewing area. My primary goal was to photograph Peyto Lake which is not even in the frame. For a wide angle view that does include this marvelous turquoise gem in the Canadian Rockies, please check out my photo in this collection titled "Peyto Lake." This is a good example of how two very nice but very different images can be made from the same vantage point.
