The "hand of man" is evident in this image which is something I usually try to avoid with my "nature" photography. (See also "Challenge Ahead.") But I couldn't resist documenting this derelict from a past age. It seems to me that it has been here for so long that it now qualifies as part of "nature."
The folks who parked this dilapidated jitney here in the La Sal Mountains seem to have been heading toward Castle Valley which is a few miles upstream on the Colorado River from Moab, Utah. The road ahead, obscured somewhat by native overgrowth, is still visible making the adventurous wanderer interested in traveling a little further in that direction.
This photograph tells a real story that could be embellished a hundred times over by an active imagination.
